Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas popularly known in the media as Ashanti was born October 13 1981 in Glen Cove New York United States. She is a singer, songwriter from America and actress. Ashanti is a teen performer, songwriter and actress in the US, was signed by Murder Inc. Records to release her debut album in 2002. In the same year, she made an appearance as a guest on The Fat Joe's What's Luv? The Fat Joe's What's Luv and Foolish? In the year she debuted her debut single What's Luv which ranked at the second spot in the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and Foolish at number one with Foolish as her debut single, she was the only female to achieve this feat.
