Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British-American sitar player and music artist. She was the first person in her age group to be a member of the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka Shakar, a young rising superstar on the Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She's the child of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Born in London and grew up in New Delhi, she spent the beginning of her career traveling between London as well as New Delhi. Her first performance took place at New Delhi when she was only 13 years old. Then she moved to Encinitas CA, where she received the High School diploma with honors in the year 1999. Anouskha even though she is just 17 years old, has had an impressive recording and performing career. Since a while, she performs regularly alongside her father. She has released Anourag her first solo album in 1998. In 2002, she debuted her Grammy award-winning album Live at Carnegie Hall. The stage work she has done is broad as she's been in every one of the world's major venues. The career of Anoushka goes far beyond music. Bapi: The of My Life of My Live is her 2002 novel, and was a tribute to Ravi Shankar. The year 2003 saw her was a part on Dance Like a Man as the Bharat Natyam performer. Her debut performance on the Sitar took place in her 75th birthday celebration in Delhi just four years later. Anoushka was able to gain numerous valuable experience when she accompanied her father during his worldwide tour. It included performances at Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD concerts and making recordings alongside George Harrison. She was the youngest and sole female winner of the House of Commons Shield awarded by the British Parliament to recognize her talent and musical ability as a leading musician of in the Asian Arts.
